IHP 553 - Laboratory Techniques in Stress Physiology


Description:
Techniques for the assessment of human physiological characteristics during rest and exercise stress. Two hours lecture and two hours lab per week. Formerly EXSC 553, students may not receive credit for both.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisites: IHP 551 and IHP 552.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Know the theories that underlie morphological and physiological assessment techniques employed in exercise physiology.
  • Know what statistical tests to apply to data collected in a laboratory setting.
  • Know what physiological principles govern human functioning during rest and exercise.
  • Competently perform morphological and physiological assessments of human structure and function.
