RTE 340 - Introduction to Adventure Programming


Description:
The course is an overview of the history, evolution and implementation of adventure learning in education. Students will mix classroom time and field experience. Course will be offered on even numbered years. Course will not have an established scheduling pattern.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Describe the history and evolution of Adventure Education.
  • Select “best” adventure theories to use in various situations.
  • Design appropriate outdoor program for selected participants.
  • Implement outdoor program.
  • Assess outdoor program effectiveness through data collected.
