PSY 681B - Mental Health Counseling Internship II: Advanced

Description:
Full-time internship placement in a mental health agency or psychiatric hospital. Grade will either be S or U.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisites: PSY 584 and PSY 681A.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Complete a school counseling internship. Students must complete 900 hours (combined from PSY 681A and 681B).
Complete paperwork in a timely manner and document their internship hours.
Present cases in a group format.
Demonstrate adequate knowledge and skills related to individual, group and family counseling.
Demonstrate skills in referrals, measuring client outcomes, developing counseling plans, multicultural competencies, mental health law, resolving ethical problems, and professionalism.
