BUS 101 - Fundamentals of Business


Description:
Welcome to the terms, functions, structures, networks, relationships and philosophies important to those exploring careers in business.  We will investigate characteristics of business success in the context of political, economic, environmental, social and technological change.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Define pertinent business vocabulary
  • Identify contemporary business concepts, principles and practices.
  • Distinguish the scopes of impact between the primary activities of business through operational analysis.
  • Distinguish the scopes of impact between the support activities of business through operational analysis.
  • Interpret the interactions between a business’ environment, personnel, and the capabilities of its primary and support activities.
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop a business plan.
  • Exhibit proficiency in analyzing information found from internal and external business sources.
