FILM 450 - Production V Description: Detailed analysis of the creative and technical elements of documentary production. Emphasizes “hands-on” application of production techniques for documentary storytelling from concept through to final product. Combined lecture/workshop. Course will be offered every year. Course will not have an established scheduling pattern.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: FILM 380 and admission to the film major.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Compare and contrast different types of documentary films.
- Prepare a research proposal for documentary film production.
- Outline and organize all aspects of pre-production for a documentary film project.
- Create short films that demonstrate a fundamental understanding of documentary filmmaking.
- Evaluate documentary films created in class and offer a critical analysis.
