A study of music history. The second of a three-quarter sequence.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisites: MUS 244 and MUS 372.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Identify the different types of music available during the late Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, either by music score or listening example.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the different musical forms and genres of the late Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, how they evolved, and their relationship within the culture and society of the time.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the primary composers of the late Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods.
  • Write in a scholarly manner about various styles of music.
