MATH 153 - Pre-Calculus Mathematics I Description: A foundation course which stresses those algebraic and elementary function concepts together with the manipulative skills essential to the study of calculus. Basic Skills 4 - Math.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: either MATH 100C with a grade of C or higher; or a score of 18 or higher on the Intermediate Math Placement Test, or a score of 66 or higher on the Compass Algebra test.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify and describe functions.
- Utilize functions.
- Work with prototype functions.
- Identify and describe the effects of transformations on both the algebraic and graphical forms of functions.
- Identify and describe properties of the graph of a function.
