ETSC 101 - Modern Technology and Energy Description: A study of how basic scientific principles are applied daily in industrial societies through a survey of transportation, energy and power, construction, and consumer product technologies. Formerly IET 101, students may not receive credit for both. NS-Applications Natural Science. Course will be offered every year (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer).

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Examine technology from multiple perspectives.
- Evaluate different technologies covered in this course and their impact on our society.
- Detail the process that drives technological progress (new and emerging), and articulate its social, political, economic, and ethical implications.
- Determine the relationship between technology and its scientific basis.
- Develop an awareness of how basic scientific and mathematical knowledge is used to solve technical problems.
