FILM 330 - Media Aesthetics Description: An examination of the major aesthetic elements involved in visual storytelling for film, including light, color, 2D and 3D space, time/motion, and sound. Formerly COM 330; students may not receive credit for both. Course will not have an established scheduling pattern.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Recognize the major media aesthetic elements.
- Analyze how aesthetic principles are used by directors and/or cinematographers to contribute to a film’s diegesis.
- Create an original visual production or a research paper using major aesthetic elements.
- Produce an effective non- narrative media message using aesthetic techniques.
- Analyze ethical considerations in the creation of media messages.
