ABS 309 - Race and Sports: Freedom, Power, and Difference Description: Sports in the United States present a fascinating paradox: while athletics offers many young people of diverse backgrounds unparalleled opportunities for self-advancement, intercollegiate and professional sports in many respects reproduce or intensify prevailing images and stereotypes around race, difference, and identity.
