TH 252 - Stage Dance


Description:
Dance techniques as they pertain to theatre, such as Contemporary Musical Theatre Jazz, Musical Theatre Tap, Golden Age, Fosse, and others. May be repeated up to 6 credits if topic changes.

Demonstrate dance terminology based on the fundamental terminology of ballet.

 

 

Terminology test will be the midterm and will be done by demonstration of designated movements.

Demonstrate the terminology and the movement associated in putting together a dance combination in an audition situation.

 

 

Terminology test will be the midterm and will be done by demonstration of designated movements.

Student will competently perform and execute a stage dance piece.

 

• Final Exam

• Grade based on technical execution (10 pts), knowledge of the dance (15 pts), and attitude by which it was learned (5 pts)

• Final dance combo to be performed finals night
